Finally coming from the mouth of Floyd Mayweather, the fight will never ever happen against 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao. In an interview of Bob Costas of NBC, Mayweather said that more important to him is he’s “health” than money and fame to be known as “best pound-for-pound” boxer. You can’t force Floyd Mayweather to fight Manny Pacquiao because of health issue.
Mayweather said that boxing is one of dangerous sports and may be in just one punch from the opponent it will be the end of career of a boxer. Mayweather emphasized that he did not fear the Filipino ring icon, he wanted us all to understand all that it needs is to protect itself.
“I come first. Self preservation. I gotta worry about my family. If the fight do not happen, so be it, “Floyd said in an interview.
Bob Costas did pretty good in the interview but he forgot to call Mayweather on one thing. When Mayweather said that Manny hasn’t any PPV records, Bob should have responded with the following stat. Manny Pacquiao is only the Third fighter in History to Produce TWO, One Million Plus PPV events in a year. Mike Tyson and Brock Lesnar are the other two, Floyd Mayweather has never done it.
Fact is, Mayweather is always looking for an Angle to dodge Pacquiao..First it was WHO IS PACQUIAO? Second Excuse…I cannot Fight in Dallas, so Venue Issue (This true though, XYLOCAINE is banned in Texas). Third Excuse, Blood Testing…That issue resolved as of May 2010 hence no longer a viable excuse. Fourth Excuse: I cannot give Manny a fair shake regarding the money (50-50 split) in this fight I must be able to make a disportionate amount so as to make Pacquiao look like a clown and a fool if he accepts.
Mayweather Jr. is clearly worried that Manny Pacquiao is a legitimate threat to his health and well-being because his response when the subject of Manny Pacquiao came up was to speak about “self preservation” and his health and family. Whenever a fighter mentions such words they are signs that they see that opponent as a danger to their health. I used to be a huge Floyd Mayweather supporter, but when I came to think things through without letting emotions get to me, I realized that Floyd Mayweather Jr. never wanted to fight Manny Pacquiao or a prime Pacquiao at least and it was clear that he was taking us for a ride and using Pacquiao’s name to sell his fights. Floyd said all Pacquiao had to do was take the tests, well Pacman agreed to them and now Floyd came up with another roadblock, a roadblock that is so unrealistic and unfair that it is enough to halt a fight of this magnitude from happening,
